How to Set Up UTS Freight

Overview

This document outlines the process to set up UTS Freight in ShipperHQ to obtain live rates associated with your UTS account.

Requirements

Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:

  • Your UTS User ID
  • Your UTS Password
  • Your UTS Bill to Location ID
Request UTS API access at UTS Registration to obtain your API Access credentials if you have not done so already.
  • LTL Freight Feature – Adding this carrier requires the LTL Freight Feature enabled either before or during the process described below. Click this link for more information about enabling the LTL Freight Feature.

Steps to Add This Carrier

Now that you have your credentials ready use the steps below to set up UTS in ShipperHQ.

  1. Log into your ShipperHQ account.
  2. Navigate to the Manage Shipping > Carriers dashboard.
  3. Click the + New to add a new carrier.
  4. Click the Live Rate Carrier option.
  5. Use the Search Carriers search bar to type in UTS or scroll down to find UTS from the list of available carriers.
  6. Select UTS Freight.
Adding UTS requires the LTL Freight advanced feature. You are prompted with the following steps if you do not have this feature enabled during installation:

  1. Toggle the Disabled toggle button to enable the LTL Freight feature.
  2. Click the Continue button.
  1. Type in the name of the carrier you want your customers to see. Example: UTS or UTS Frieght.
  2. Click the Continue button.

Steps to Validate This Carrier

  1. Click the Enter Credentials button.
Note, you can select the Skip & Enter Later option, but the UTS live rates are not enabled until these credentials are entered. You are also reminded to add your credentials if you choose to skip the validation process. This validation is necessary for ShipperHQ to access your shipping account and rates.
  1. Click the Enter Credentials button once again.
  2. Input your User Name, Password and Bill to Location ID into the fields provided.
  3. Select the Payment Type from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Validate button.
If validation fails, click the Try Validation Again button to re-enter your credentials, click the Skip Validation For Now link to complete this process later, or contact us for further assistance if the validation process is unsuccessful.
  1. If validation is successful, toggle the Disabled toggle button to enable the UTS Freight carrier.
  2. Click the Configure This Carrier button if the validation process was successful.

Congratulations! Your UTS Freight carrier is now enabled and ready for configuration.
