XPO LTL Freight

This document will outline how you can obtain your XPO (formerly Con-Way Freight) Credentials required for ShipperHQ to pull the live rates associated with your XPO Account and how to connect those credentials to ShipperHQ.

Registering for XPO Credentials

  • A registered account with XPO
  • Your Customer Number
  • Your User ID
  • Your Password
  • Your Basic Auth Key

In order to get the credentials needed to add a carrier in ShipperHQ you will have to setup a business account with XPO. To set up a business account, you can contact XPO by calling 1-800-755-2728 . If you have an account but don’t yet have API credentials from XPO, contact your XPO account representative.

Additional Information on XPO Credentials

Your XPO account representative may ask you for some additional information about how you’ll be using API credentials when you request them. See the information below for answers to these questions:

  • What REST API integrations will you be using? Rating API
  • What type of API Consumer are you? Direct Customer
  • What TMS or Service Provider are you connecting through? ShipperHQ
  • Which XPO LTL integration method are you using? XML

Steps To Add This Carrier

XPO requires the LTL Freight advanced feature. If you do not already have this feature enabled you will be prompted to do so during installation.
  1. Go to the Carriers page in the ShipperHQ dashboard
  2. Click + New to add a new carrier
  3. Select Live Rate Carrier
  4. Search for and select XPO
  5. Name this carrier (this name will be the name your customers see in the Checkout.)
  6. Success! Your carrier has now been added to your list of carriers in ShipperHQ.
  7. You may now proceed to Validate your carrier (instructions are in the following section), or you can skip this step and choose to validate your carrier at another time. If you choose to skip validation you can begin to configure your carrier’s settings right away.

Steps to Validate This Carrier

In order for your live rate carrier to access your live rates, you will need to enter your carrier account credentials for XPO and have them validated.

Validation, simply means that ShipperHQ was able to access the shipping account related to the credentials that you entered and retrieve rates.

If you choose to skip validation after adding your new carrier you will be reminded to add your credentials later.

To Validate your Carrier:

  1. Select Enter Credentials & Validate
  2. Review the information required to validate and Continue. The information listed here should be the credentials you received when you created an XPO account.
  3. Enter your credentials and click Validate
Note: Successful installation depends on the accurate entry of the account information required by XPO. If you do not have the correct information you will not be able to validate your carrier and receive live rates.
  4. If validation is successful, you will be presented with:
    1. The option to enable your carrier right away. (Enabling your carrier at this time will turn its rates on immediately even before you have made any configuration adjustments to it.)
    2. Begin to configure. Continuing with this button will take you to the carrier’s configuration page. You can also enable the carrier from this page once you have saved your settings.
Successful installation of XPO in ShipperHQ
  5. If validation fails, the credentials you have already entered will still be saved so they will populate the form when you return. You can:
    1. Choose to try validation again and double-check that the information you entered is correct.
    2. Skip validation for now and complete it later. You will be reminded to complete validation later to get rates.
    3. Contact us if you are struggling to validate your carrier and you believe the credentials you are using are correct. We will be happy to help get you validated.
