Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery LTL Freight


This document outlines the process to set up Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery LTL in ShipperHQ to obtain live rates associated with your Metropolitan account.


Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:

  • Your Metropolitan API Key
Register for API access with Metropolitan Freight if you have not done so already Metropolitan Freight Signup
  • LTL Freight Feature – Adding this carrier requires the LTL Freight Feature enabled either before or during the process described below. Click this link for more information about enabling the LTL Freight Feature.

Steps to Add This Carrier

Now that you have your credentials ready use the steps below to set up Metropolitan in ShipperHQ.

  1. Log into your ShipperHQ account.
  2. Navigate to the Manage Shipping > Carriers dashboard.
  3. Click the + New to add a new carrier.
  4. Click the Live Rate Carrier option.
  5. Use the Search Carriers search bar to type in Metropolitan or scroll down to find Metropolitan LTL Freight from the list of available carriers.
  6. Select Metropolitan LTL Freight.
Adding Metropolitan requires the LTL Freight advanced feature. You are prompted with the following steps if you do not have this feature enabled during installation:

  1. Click the toggle button to enable the LTL Freight feature.
  2. Click the Continue button.
  3. Type in the name of the carrier you want your customers to see. Example: Metropolitan
  4. Click the Continue button.

Steps to Validate This Carrier

  1. Click the Enter Credentials button.
  2. Note, you can select the Skip & Enter Later option, but Metropolitan live rates are not enabled until these credentials are entered. You are also reminded to add your credentials if you choose to skip the validation process. This validation is necessary for ShipperHQ to access your shipping account and rates.
  3. Click the Enter Credentials button once again.
  4. Input your Metropolitan API Key into the field provided.
  5. Select the Pickup Terms for your account
  6. Click the Validate button.
  7. If validation is successful, click the toggle button to enable the Metropolitan carrier.
  8. Click the Configure This Carrier button if the validation process was successful.
  9. Your Metropolitan LTL Freight carrier is now enabled and ready for configuration.
