Use Advanced Shipment Details to optimize order fulfillment and enhance delivery accuracy

Overview

Advanced Shipment Details (formerly Shipping Insights) is a vital tool for merchants aiming to connect their checkout experience with fulfillment. It helps optimize your ecommerce shipping strategy. When enabled, ShipperHQ gathers detailed shipping information for every order. Depending on your platform and ShipperHQ plan (see Requirements), you can access this data directly in your platform dashboard, within partner apps, or through our Advanced Shipment Details API.

Available Information

Advanced Shipment Details provides details such as:

  • Carrier and shipping method chosen
  • Address type (residential/commercial)
  • LTL Freight Accessorials
  • Shipping costs, fees, and total charges
  • Multi-origin orders setup
  • Shipment breakdown and costs
  • Customer's delivery and dispatch dates
  • Box details like weight and items included

Requirements

Full Functionality is available on Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans via Magento 2, BigCommerce, and Shopify. Need to upgrade? Visit our subscription guide.

Partner Apps: For ShipStation users, a limited set of Advanced Shipment Details data can be viewed in your ShipStation dashboard if you meet the platform and plan requirements. While the Advanced Shipment Details feature is not required for ShipStation's integration, it is a valuable complement letting you see full Advanced Shipment Details data in your eCommerce platform alongside the limited dataset available in the ShipStation dashboard. Steps to Enable Advanced Shipment Details

  1. In your ShipperHQ dashboard, go to Manage Shipping > Advanced Features and toggle Enable.
  2. Agree to terms and proceed. 
  3. Click Ok, thanks. You're ready to start — steps vary by platform:
    • Magento: Additional setup required
    • BigCommerce/Shopify: You're all set!

Additional Steps for Magento

  1. Install "module-orderview" if using Standard Magento 2 extension. Instructions here.
  2. Log into Magento Admin Panel.
  3. Navigate to Stores > Other Settings > Synchronize with ShipperHQ.
  4. Click Synchronize with ShipperHQ.
  5. You're all set!

Accessing Advanced Shipment Details

Magento Users

  1. Log into Magento.
  2. Go to Sales > Orders.
  3. Select View in the Action column.
  4. Click Show Shipping Details to view details.

Shopify Users

  1. Log into Shopify.
  2. Navigate to the Orders page.
  3. Select More Actions > View Shipment Details.

Note: Manual and Draft orders do not populate Advanced Shipment Details data. An alternative is to process the order through the live checkout instead of submitting it manually. This ensures the shipping data is captured properly.

Note: If you’ve recently installed the ShipperHQ Plus app, Advanced Shipment Details will display data from the Plus app only, not the Standard app. Be sure to use the Plus app to store and access shipping data.

BigCommerce Users

  1. Log into BigCommerce.
  2. Go to the Orders page.
  3. Select "... " then View Shipment Details In ShipperHQ.

User Access: Set permissions in your BigCommerce Dashboard to access ShipperHQ.

Note: Update ShipperHQ for BigCommerce if installed before February 2023. Necessary if you were already using Advanced Shipment Details — refresh access tokens by toggling the feature Off then On again.

Disabling Advanced Shipment Details

To opt-out:

  1. Navigate to Advanced Features.
  2. Toggle Enable to disable.
  3. Click Close.
  4. Go to My Account > Security.
  5. Click the opt out link if desired.

💡 Note: Opting out won't stop temporary storage necessary for ShipperHQ to function. See our Privacy Policy and User Agreement.
