How to Set Up Rules Based on Origins

Overview

If you’re shipping products from multiple origins, you may need to set up a rule that applies only to one (or a few) of your Origins and not to all.

For example, you may be drop shipping from a certain supplier who charges you a $10 handling fee per order, while if shipping from your warehouse there would be no handling fee.

ShipperHQ allows you to handle these types of scenarios using Origin-based Shipping Rules.

Origin-based Shipping Rules

In order to use Origin-based Shipping Rules, you will need to enable the Multi-Origin Shipping feature. Please note: This feature is available for accounts on the Standard plan and higher.
  1. In the “Shipping Rules” section of the ShipperHQ Dashboard, click theĀ Settings link in the top right corner of the page.
  2. In the popup, set the Origins dropdown to “Yes.” (screenshot below)

Enable Origin-based Carrier Rules

With this enabled, you’ll now find your Origins as a Condition under the Advanced panel on your Shipping Rules. Selecting one or more Origins in this field will cause this Rule to apply only to shipments from those Origins.

Test Your Rates

Verify that your carriers and rules are working and see how they will display in your checkout right from the ShipperHQ dashboard.
