Sometimes you might see a quantity of carriers in your account that do not correspond to the quantity of carriers listed. This may also prevent you from adding more carriers when your plan allows for a greater quantity.
In the screenshot below, 4 carriers are displayed next to the “Carriers” tab but only two carriers are able to be managed.
Cause and Solution
The most common cause for this abnormality is that a feature has been disabled since the carrier has been created. For example, if you enable the “LTL Freight Carriers & 3PLs” feature, create a freight carrier then later disable that feature without deleting the carrier then the carrier will still be defined but it will not be able to be edited or returned as a shipping method when requesting rates. In this scenario, re-enabling the “LTL Freight Carriers & 3pls” feature then deleting the freight carrier will free up that carrier again.
