Using Shipper Hq With Amazon Mcf And Buy With Prime On Shopify

Merchants using ShipperHQ on Shopify may also enable Amazon Buy with Prime and Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) for order fulfillment. Because these Amazon checkout and fulfillment methods interact differently with Shopify’s checkout flow, shipping rate behavior can vary. This document explains what to expect and outlines the recommended configuration approach

How ShipperHQ Works on Shopify

ShipperHQ is designed to calculate shipping rates and apply rules during Shopify’s standard checkout flow, specifically at the shipping step. This allows ShipperHQ to evaluate:

  • Cart contents

  • Destination address

  • Shipping rules and conditions

  • Packing logic and box configuration

If the checkout or shipping step is bypassed, ShipperHQ cannot return rates or trigger rules.

Amazon Buy with Prime Behavior

  • Buy with Prime orders bypass Shopify checkout entirely.

  • Because Shopify’s checkout and shipping steps are not used, ShipperHQ is not invoked.

  • ShipperHQ rates, rules, and logic cannot be applied to Buy with Prime orders.

This behavior is expected and cannot be altered.

Amazon MCF on Shopify

  • Amazon MCF-fulfilled orders still use Shopify checkout, but the shipping logic is handled by Amazon.

  • The MCF flow bypasses ShipperHQ’s rate calculation process.

  • As a result, ShipperHQ rates and rules cannot be applied to MCF shipping methods.

ShipperHQ cannot trigger shipping rules if the checkout flow or shipping step is overridden by MCF.

Can ShipperHQ Rates Be Used with MCF Fulfillment?

At this time:

  • ShipperHQ cannot calculate rates at checkout and then route the order to Amazon MCF for fulfillment.

  • ShipperHQ cannot control or override Amazon-provided shipping methods.

The checkout and fulfillment logic are separate, and MCF bypasses the traditional flow ShipperHQ depends on.

Recommended Approach

To support Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime while maintaining a consistent checkout experience:

  • Use Shopify standard or flat shipping rates for MCF-specific shipping methods.

  • Alternatively, use Amazon-provided shipping methods where applicable.

  • Treat MCF and Buy with Prime orders as free or flat-rate shipping at checkout if needed.

ShipperHQ can continue to power shipping rates for all non-MCF, standard Shopify checkout orders.
