If your postcode-based shipping rules aren’t working as expected in ShipperHQ, it’s usually due to how the postcode is formatted or interpreted.
Because UK postcodes follow a specific structure, your rules must exactly match how ShipperHQ stores and validates postcodes.
Common Causes and Fixes
1. Postcode Formatting (Spaces and Partial Matches)
ShipperHQ does not support partial postcode matches at checkout — the full postcode must be entered in both the rule and the customer’s address for a match to occur.
Example:

Shipping zone defined as:
SW1 -
Customer enters:
SW1 1AAorSW11AA→ Matches -
Customer enters:
SW1→ Does not match
Fix:

Enter postcodes without spaces when defining rules.

Ensure customers enter the complete postcode for a successful match.
2. Ranges and Alphanumeric Postcodes
UK postcodes are alphanumeric, so numeric range logic (e.g., 1000–2000) will not behave as expected.
Fix:

Define specific postcodes or exact values rather than numeric ranges.

For example, use full postcodes like
SW1orSW10, or clearly defined ranges such asSW1–SW12(if applicable).
3. Overlapping or Conflicting Rules
If multiple rules cover the same or overlapping postcodes, ShipperHQ applies them in order of specificity, which can cause unexpected results.
Fix:

Review your postcode rules for duplicates or overlaps.

Ensure each rule targets a distinct, exact postcode.
4. Country Setting
Always specify United Kingdom as the country when creating postcode rules to ensure accurate rule application.
4. Crown Dependencies (Jersey,Guernsey & Isle of Man)
If you use a separate shipping zone for Crown Dependencies such as Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man, do not try to isolate them using specific postcode ranges — this is not supported in ShipperHQ.
Workaround:
Use United Kingdom as the country zone and isolate Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man by their specific postcodes instead.
