How Do I Make Checkout Automatically Select the Cheapest Shipping Rate?

ShipperHQ does not control which shipping method is automatically selected at checkout. ShipperHQ is responsible for calculating and returning available shipping rates, but the selection behavior is handled entirely by your eCommerce platform.

Why ShipperHQ Cannot Auto Select a Rate

ShipperHQ sends all eligible shipping options and prices to the platform. Once those rates are returned, the platform determines:

  • Whether a shipping method is preselected

  • Which method is selected by default

  • How customers interact with the shipping options

Because this behavior is platform specific, ShipperHQ does not have the ability to force the cheapest rate to be automatically selected.

Where to Configure Auto Selection

To enable auto selection of the cheapest shipping rate, review your eCommerce platform’s checkout settings or customization options.
