How to Set Up Zenda


This document will outline how you can obtain credentials required for ShipperHQ to request the live rates associated with your Zenda account.

Create a new Carrier

When setting up your Zenda carrier in ShipperHQ, you’ll need certain credentials that will allow ShipperHQ to connect to the Zenda servers and obtain a rate quote. Follow these directions to obtain/set-up the necessary credentials.

Adding Zenda carrier from the Marketplace page

  1. Navigate to the Marketplace page from the ShipperHQ Dashboard (left sidebar)
  2. Search for Zenda under ‘Small Package Carriers’
    • You can filter by carrier type or by installation status using the dropdown menus near the search bar
    • Being to install and validate a selected carrier by clicking the “install” button directly on the listing or click anywhere else on the listing to view a detailed page with more information about the carrier including information required for validating the carrier.
  3. Proceed to the “Register for a Zenda Account” and “Adding Credentials to your Zenda Carrier” instructions below and enter the required account information for validation.
  4. Note: Successful installation depends on the accurate entry of the account information required by each carrier. If you do not have the correct information you will not be able to validate your carrier or receive live rates. 
  5. Once validation is successful, you will be presented with the option to enable your carrier right away or configure it further. Selecting configure will take you to the carrier’s details page.

Register for a Zenda Account

  1. Visit the Zenda site and use their contact form to request an account
  2. Next, you’ll be sent a username and password once your account has been created

Adding Credentials to your Carrier

  1. Go to the carriers page in the ShipperHQ dashboard
  2. Since you have already created the carrier, you will now need to edit it.
  3. Click on the “Update Credentials” link on the top of the Carrier settings. That will bring you to the Validation screen.
  4. Next, click “Begin Validation” under the Zenda install screen and enter the username and password information obtained from before.
  5. ShipperHQ will indicate if validation is successful. You can enable the carrier to start rating by toggling the switch from Disabled to Enabled.
  6. Finally, click “Configure This Carrier” to select your methods and set your settings.

Displaying Duties & Taxes

With ShipperHQ and Zenda you’re able to display a fully landed (Delivery Duty Paid or DDP) shipping cost to your customers. This is made possible by the combination of Zenda’s duties & tax calculation engine and ShipperHQ’s shipping rate management functionality.

When you set up your Zenda account, one of the things you’ll do is provide Zenda with your product catalog in order to allow Zenda to classify your catalog with HS codes used for duties & tax calculation. With this complete, you’ll be able to charge fully landed costs to your customers.

eCommerce Platform Support
ShipperHQ supports landed cost calculation via Zenda on all eCommerce platforms. On Magento 1 and Magento 2, this is shown as a separate note below the shipping rate. For BigCommerce and Shopify, on the other hand, the amount is shown as part of the shipping method name.
