ShipperHQ allows you to set up rules for different groups of customers based on the customer’s Customer Group set in your eCommerce platform. This feature is disabled by default but below we’ll show you how to switch this on and set up a basic Customer Group-based rule.
Turning on Customer Groups in ShipperHQ
On the Carrier Rules page in ShipperHQ, click the “Settings” button in the top right corner. There you’ll see the option to enable Customer Groups. Once this is enabled, you’ll see a “Customer Group” option in your left-hand navbar.
Setting up your Customer Groups
In ShipperHQ you’ll need to define Customer Groups which match the ones you have set up in your eCommerce Platform. These can be created on the Customer Groups page in ShipperHQ. Ensure that the “Customer Group Name” you use in ShipperHQ when setting up your Customer Group matches the name for the customer group set up in your eCommerce platform.
Using Customer Groups in Carrier Rules
To offer a different set of shipping options or rates to customers based on their Customer Group you’ll need to use the Customer Group field when you set up your Carrier Rules in ShipperHQ. This field is shown under Conditions once you’ve turned Customer Groups on in ShipperHQ (see above).
